SERVER RULES

1. Be kind, considerate, and respectful of others. Above all this is meant to be a fun and safe space for us to roleplay!
2. PostHuman is only for 20+ members.
3. Be mindful that you are sharing this space with others and their comfort levels may differ from your own. This means avoiding discussion of common triggers, relentlessly venting, or using slurs—even if they are reclaimed.
4. While PostHuman may be a 20+ space please keep in depth discussion of NSFW out of the main channels. Making an occasional dick joke is fine, turning the roleplay channels into ERP is not.
5. Do not use this server to gossip about other groups or players. It's okay to vaguely mention "this happened to me in another group" but directly naming names is not acceptable.
6. PostHuman's Discord server uses a ticket system. That means any private questions, concerns, and discussions for the moderators should be directed to the mod team through our ticket bot—not Discord DMs.

ROLEPLAY RULES

1. Practice good RP etiquette; this means no godmodding, meta gaming, or ship chasing.
2. All roleplays in the story channels will be script. You may do lit in other channels but to keep the group pace consistent, events are script only.
3. PostHuman is a permadeath group. In line with the zombie apocalypse genre, death is an ever-present threat in PostHuman. Your character will face outcomes dependent on their actions and dice rolls; these outcomes can range from minor injuries, maiming, or even death. If you do not feel you can handle your character dying, this may not be the group for you.
4. If you have not responded to a roleplay within a week we will ask that the channel be freed for other players to use.
5. Keep your IC and OOC feelings separate. Oftentimes, our characters have pieces of us within them, and that means we all can get a little over invested. But if you start to feel upset or angry with the outcome of an RP interaction, it may be time to walk away and cool off. IC perception of a character does not reflect how members feel about your character—or you.
6. Avoid being a selfish roleplayer. While everyone wants their moment to shine it's important that you let others shine as well. This can mean waiting to place an action when you went first last time, not interrupting important scenes, and being supportive in the OOC chats when other members and their characters are the focus.

TRIGGER WARNING

PostHuman is an adult group that will handle mature topics commonly depicted in zombie and post apocalyptic media. This includes such triggers as graphic violence, child endangerment, and suicide. We will be treating triggering topics with the tact they deserve and require that our player base does the same — this means no gratuitous depictions or inappropriate jokes. Triggering material will be relegated exclusively to the Story and Story Commentary channels.

To keep this group a safe space for participation we've included a trigger section in the written application. We will DM players individually to let them know their listed trigger will be present in a scene before it happens. They have the option to bow out of that portion of the event with no detriment to their character or the party.

While we will be issuing trigger warnings we would advise against applying if you experience strong distress with common themes in this genre. If you cannot watch media like The Walking Dead or 28 Days Later, this may not be a healthy group for you to engage with.

How many applicants will you be accepting?

We're aiming to accept about 25–30 members.

What is the tone of PostHuman?

The tone of PostHuman is dark and gritty, but with glimpses of light peeking through. You can expect a character-driven, survival-focused campaign that emphasizes the actions you make and the consequences you face.

How long will PostHuman run?

PostHuman will run for around one year. After that period no new plot developments will occur, but the server will remain open indefinitely for people to roleplay as they wish.

How are plot and events structured in PostHuman? What does participation look like?

PostHuman runs on a monthly event system: events take place over the course of 3–4 weeks on average with two week breaks in between. Every few days, moderators will push the plot forward, and members will be given opportunities to roleplay, place actions, conduct conversations, and more between these pushes. We do it this way so members with different schedules and different time zones have the chance to participate in the plot, but aren't required to be online every day or at the same time as everyone else.

All event roleplays are also done in script-style to keep roleplay flowing and for ease of reading. As a result, participation can be done on an "as-can-do" basis, where players can jump in and out as their schedules allow. If you have to step out for a week or two, the moderators and fellow members will be more than happy to catch you up, and you can jump right back in. The goal is to have a fun, active, but low-pressure environment.
